On Senior Night at Pete Antimarino Stadium, the Gateway Gators deliver a dominant performance in all three phases of the game to cruise past the Fox Chapel Foxes 49-14 in a Big East Conference matchup.
Gateway roars to a 42-0 halftime lead, fueled by freshman standout Ned Reid, who scores four total touchdowns—two receiving, one rushing, and a defensive scoop-and-score following a forced fumble by senior linebacker Jakson Smith. Sophomore quarterback Mayson Mitchell commands an efficient first-half passing attack, completing 8 of 10 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns, including a scoring strike to senior wide receiver Daysaun Spencer
. Senior Jaden Stammer electrifies the home crowd with a sensational punt return touchdown, while kicker Jackson Mikulandrich remains solid on extra-point attempts. In the second half, running back Darrell Harper caps off a long drive with a touchdown run, supported by key plays from Jarrell Parks, Nazir Diggs, and backup quarterback Jacob Zielinksi.
Fox Chapel highlights include a first-half interception on a screen pass by senior defensive lineman Isaiah Baker. In the second half, the Foxes find the end zone on a 3-yard touchdown run by Russell Dezort and a touchdown pass from Axel Swanson to Kane McKee, with kicker Sharif Zureikat adding both PATs. Despite efforts from quarterback Gianni Fusaro, Sam Resek, and Caleb Portis, Gateway’s early offensive explosion and physical defense secure a fifth victory of the season to strengthen their WPIAL 5A playoff resume.
